About NATHM

Nepal Academy of Tourism & Hotel Management (NATHM)formerly known as HMTTC was established in 1972 by Government of Nepal with the technical assistance of UNDP/ILO to produce skilled manpower required by the Hospitality and tourism industry. Eversince it's birth the Academy has played a crucial role in developing the human resources for this industry with the aim of enhancing the level of quality in services. It has been providing craft and supervisory level skill oriented training to cater to the demands from this particular sector. This premier Academy is renowned for generating qualified workforce for the ever-increasing demands of the Hospitality and tourism sectors.

As the industry has grown rapidly over the past decades, the need for professionally trained higher-level manpower is evident. The Academy, in consultation with the industry, has launched the three years Bachelor in Hotel Management (BHM)Course from 1999 and three years Bacelor in Travel and Tourism Management (BTTM)Course from september 2003 in affiliation with Tribhuvan University to fulfill the needs of supervisory-level manpower in the Hospitality and tourism industry.

Furthermore, in order to cope with the ever increasing demand for the managerial level manpower in the hospitality and tourism industry, NATHM is planning to conduct Master's level course in hospitality management in the near future.

The mission of NATHM is: "Helping to build career opportunities in the hospitality & tourism sectors through quality education"

Objectives: Based on the mission, the objectives of NATHM are:

    * to produce trained and skilled workforce required for the hotel and tourism industry
    * to conduct long term higher level academic programs to produce managerial level personnel
    * to provide consultancy and carry out survey and research for the development of tourism.

INTERNATIONAL ACCREDITATION
Nepal Academy of Tourism and Hotel Management is proud to announce its association with International College of Hotel Management (ICHM) Australia.
NATHM has acquired an official accreditation from ICHM to enroll its BHM graduates into 4th year of Bachelor of International Hotel Management in Adelaide, Australia. This will help NATHM to improve its quality of academic courses and maintain the academic excellence of international standard.

The BHM students upon completion of 4 years will thus receive:
1. Bachelor of Hotel Management from NATHM Nepal (3 years).

2. Bachelor of International Hotel management from ICHM- Australia (I year)
The students will get a full credit transfer of 120 hours (3 years course at NATHM) to enroll into 4th year of Bachelor of International HotelManagement in ICHM. The students will have to complete the first semester on campus and the second semester will be paid industrial placement with one project work.

ICHM is the first hotel college offering world famous Swiss Hotel Association Diploma outside Switzerland.

Swiss Hotel Association and South Australian Government played a major role in establishing International College of Hotel Management in 1993.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR NATHM STUDENTS TO ICHM
1. The applicants must have completed 3 years BHM from NATHM
2. The applicants must be recommended by NATHM
3. The applicants must have secured minimum score of 6.0 in IELTS and must have secured a minimum of 5.5 score in any band
4. The applicant must be fluent in second language, home language is accepted
5. The applicant must have completed 1400 hrs of Industrial Experience.


Physical Facilities: To complement its on going and future activities NATHM realise on the following physical facilities spread over an area of approximately 1.5 hectares (29 Ropanis):

    * Theory Classrooms

    * Computer Labs
    * Food Science Lab
